Around Christmas 2004 I decided to close down my otherwise successful web publishing system based on a Microsoft server in the basement. As it became increasingly popular, I was big time victim of comment spammers and really got upset with the situation.
After complaining to the internet service providers hosting the comment-contributors, I had to realize that there was next to nothing I could do to get in contact with these individuals.
So I decided to void my home build ASP system and move on to a hosted web service in the future. Instead of building a new system from scratch, I figured this was a good opportunity for me to start researching what’s available out there. After all, php is new turf and I had no difficulties finding a lot of promising systems in the public domain.

After evaluating a number of alternatives, I decided to experiment some more with WordPress. What you see here is my pilot installation – over time I will attempt to get most of the content of the old webserver into a new structure here. Please have patience though…
