Very good tip. Might be one more reason to ditch Safari and go the Firefox way.

Thanks, that didn’t work as expected. But I went into the Apps in the Preferences panel and had the option to select from google mail, from a drop down menu. Not sure if it was there before I had pasted your text request in the address bar. Anyway, now I have gmail as default. :) thanks again.
